Bio:
Salt to Bitters is a drinking band, mixing alt country with indie rock. The band was started in Chapel Hill, NC in January of 2007 by Tony Raver (Violets for Nikki, The Relatively Calm, Twilighter). Since the band has been put together different artists have worked on the project including Stu Cole (Chicken Wire Gang, Squirrel Nut Zippers) and Jenni Tonic (Whiskey Town, Calico Haunts, Jimmy and the Teasers) and Brian Cabler (Western Civ).
Press:
“Chapel Hill’s Salt to Bitters make languid folk that centers on the tattered-heart tantrums of singer Tony T. Raver.“
Jordan Lawrence — Independent Weekly
“Tony Raver’s cathar-sick wails front Salt to Bitters’ abrasive acoustic-charged punk.“
Spencer Griffith — Independent Weekly
“Salt to Bitters is a band that seems to be dedicated to the practice of consuming, imbibing, vomiting, recovering from, apologizing for and celebrating alcohol.“
Bzzz — Wall Fly
“Salt To Bitters has a sharp, slashing style and a shambling folk-punk attitude. “
Chris Parker — Independent Weekly
